Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

This place is a treasure trove of all things jade ,from stunning necklaces and bracelets to intricate carvings. The variety is mind-blowing, and you can feel the vibrant, local vibe as you wander through the stalls. The vendors are super friendly, and even if you’re just browsing, they’re happy to share stories about the jade pieces. It’s such a cool spot to pick up unique souvenirs or something special for yourself. Plus, it’s super easy to get to – just a quick 5-10 minute walk from the nearest SHAM SHUI PO MTR station, so you’ve got no excuse not to visit! Highly recommend!

The Jade Market is still open. I changed the string of my jade pendant here for a very small price.
