I had some time to kill before my harbor cruise so I decided to go on the observation wheel, and it was well worth it. It’s extremely cheap, about $20 HKD for an adult ($3 USD), and you get some phenomenal views. The line is definitely long, but took about 15 minutes to get through. I was solo with a random group in my cabin and they were awesome so it made the whole experience that much better. Highly recommend trying this out.

A must-visit in Central! •Highly recommend buying tickets online in advance, especially since weekends & public holidays get quite crowded. •Each spacious cabin fits up to 8 people. •Pro tip: go around dusk to nighttime—the views of the glowing city skyline and Victoria Harbour are far better than in the day!

Great place for family and friends to bond. The line to ride the observation wheel gets pretty long sometimes, so bring your patience. The harbor view is spectacular at night.

The observation wheel is approx 15 mins walk from Central MTR station. Its a pleasant walk with displays and good signage to the Observation wheel. Once you get there, ticket booths to self serve, purchase tickets are available. You need to wait in the queue to get in the pod. They take a photo beforehand for you to purchase. Each pod seats 8 ppl so you may end up sharing a pod with a stranger. Try to sit on the harbour side if you want a better view of the water. The wheel goes 3 times round. Good views of the city and inexpensive. Highly recommended if you are in Central.

It’s a must visit place in Hong Kong. How to get to here it’s very easy, you can reach to Central 中环 with MTR, then walk all the way to IFC mall, basically there a bridge all the way from MTR to there, it’s very convenient to walk even during rainy day. That’s what i did back in the day, once you reach IFC mall, walk through another indoor bridge that can reach to the Observation Wheel directly. It’s a great experience taking the Wheel, you can’t see the whole landscape of HK, too bad I just can’t see clearly due to rainy day. The queue isn’t so bad on week day, it’s about 10-15 minutes until my turn after buying the ticket. You can find the toilet under the Observation Wheel too.
