Been to Hong Kong many times but first time discovered this place. The aviary is surprisingly big, all the birds are flying around freely and you can watch them very closely, some even stopping by people’s shoulders. A relaxing walk you can just chill and enjoy the greenery in this busy city, it’s such a great experience. And it’s free.

In such a pacted and energized city, it is nice to take a step back and enjoy this very relaxing experience. Whole place looks fabulous and birds are plentiful, bring a great camera!

Located inside Hong Kong Park and free to enter. There are many birds flying freely inside, which makes it quite nice because you get to see them moving naturally around the trees and water. Since the birds roam freely… there’s a chance you might get pooped on lol (I did). The place itself is actually quite clean, and that’s because there are staff constantly cleaning the floor and railings. There’s an elevated walkway and a small suspension bridge, so you walk through the aviary while the birds fly around you. It feels a bit like being inside their habitat rather than just looking at them in cages. Fun fact: The aviary covers about 3,000 square metres and houses many tropical bird species from Southeast Asia and New Guinea.

Located uphill inside the Hongkong park. It offers free entry, open from 9-5pm. The site is not too big but has a nice setting with waterfall, greenery, and lots of birds. The place is very clean as the staff clean the whole area regularly. You can spot a lots of birds from up close.

The Aviary in Hong Kong Park is a wonderful place and captive ecosystem. The aviary is compact but still a good size and immaculately maintained and presented. The birds inside appear very happy and healthy and it was fantastic to be able to get up close with some of them. There is plenty of information dotted around the aviary offering a great understanding into the wildlife and their natural habitats. Cleaners are constantly patrolling the elevated walkways ensuring visitors hands are kept clean from the random bird droppings…!! This is a great place to visit and absorb yourself into nature for a while.
