About 圓貝

圓貝 is a tea and juice shop in Central, Central and Western, at 香港島中環德己立街24號. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.

When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Many open seven days a week, but some small shops take a weekly day off; for cakes or large orders of pastries, calling ahead is the safest bet. Sweetness and ice levels can usually be chosen, and some shops give a discount if you bring your own cup.

Opening hours: Mon–Thu 09:00–24:00, Fri 09:00–01:00, Sat 11:00–01:00, Sun 11:00–22:00. It is open seven days a week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. Phone: 9880 1211. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. As this is a mobile number, a WhatsApp message may also work.

It has a Google rating of 4.2 out of 5 from 258 reviews. Opinions are mixed but broadly steady, and the latest reviews are the best guide to what to expect.

Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

Love the concept here! Downstairs bubble tea is plant-based and sugar-free, feels super light and refreshing. Upstairs craft bar has a nice amber vibe, very chill. They do sugar-free cocktails with cool stuff like tangerine peel, and they serve small plates too. Staff here are super friendly and polite as well. Great spot to hang out!

Beyond pleased to learn that Mother Pearl has reopened with their flagship location in Hong Kong. Been coming here for years to have their refined sugar-free and health-conscious bubble tea drinks. Most of the drinks are oat milk-based which I appreciate as someone who is lactose intolerant. The flavour combinations they have created are unbelievable and I’ve always had a good experience with the employees. Looking forward to going back and trying more drinks from their new menu. Glad to see old favourites like “True East” are still available.

It is a wonderful experience to have a such crazy good cocktail which made by a very handsome and calm bartender. Rocky is cool and fun. His way to make the cocktail is amazing. Very very friendly and calm environment!!!! I feel like an empress to have a cocktail called Empress Wu:) Thank you MotherPearl!!!

I used to come here mainly because they offered refined-sugar-free bubble tea, but finding out they now have refined-sugar-free cocktails was such a pleasant surprise. On top of tasting great, the cocktails are super Instagrammable. The whole environment is really comfortable and beautiful. After having a drink upstairs, you can head downstairs for their famous healthy bubble tea and light bites, plus they now offer a much wider variety of bottled teas. The staff were super nice and explained each drink to me—so thrilled they opened a flagship store in Central!

Service was phenomenal. We came with a group of 6 and wanted to try everything. The gentleman at the register helped organize our orders into set meals for better pricing. Keep in mind that they don't add extra sugars into the drinks and use monk fruit and other sugar free sweeteners instead. I enjoyed the chestnut hojicha which had just the right amount of sweetness from the chocolate syrup. They definitely have the "asian" sweetness level which I prefer over the extreme "American" sweetness level. Will have to revisit to try other drinks, the cookies were also great, definitely sweeter than the drinks so it was a nice balance. Do note that they have one item on the menu that has honey for all the vegans out there, none of the drinks had honey though.
