Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only. Dim sum restaurants usually charge a per-person tea fee, and dishes are priced by size; weekend mornings from about 10:00 to lunchtime are the busiest, and many places give out queue tickets. Book wedding and birthday banquets months ahead.

Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

Fairly nice lunch. They have different set menu everyday. Staffs are nice people. Lunch is really busy

Actually, a nice place for a quick local breakfast, not under the name of 冰室 or 冰厅 so hard to tell that from a map search. Welcoming and friendly staff to not only the locals, but nearly all customers are locals so don't worry about authenticity of the flavor.

It must take some real skill to cook a plate of salted fish and chicken fried rice that has absolutely no flavor yet still manages to look pretty 🤣. There’s really no taste at all—not even any salted fish. All that’s left are bland chicken chunks and rice. The milk tea was both bitter and lacking smoothness. *Disappointment Rating:* ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is by far the best value for quality in Hong Kong. My experience is only the afternoon set $HK50 (slightly cheaper than the lunch set). But the serving size, choices and drinks are all good and excellent quality. Try the drunken chicken with Dan Dan noodles.

The food is not bad. It's a restaurant with a mixture of Sichuan and Shanghai cuisine. Taste is ok, the price is reasonable, especially in this Wanchai district, the service is good and fast. However, one thing that the owner should take care of, it's the air conditioning is not strong enough. Especially the door always left open and it's difficult to eat comfortably in thirtysomethung degree celsius.
