About 古今二
古今二 is a Japanese or Korean restaurant in Kwun Tong, at Room B, 1/F, -484, 官塘工業中心4期 Kwun Tong Rd, Kwun Tong, Kowloon. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it. This is an upstairs shop: the way in is usually through the building lobby rather than from the street, so check the building name, floor and unit before you go and allow a few minutes for the lift.
When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Popular Japanese and Korean restaurants often take online bookings or queue tickets, and omakase counters usually ask for a deposit.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 12:00–16:00 and 18:00–23:00. It is open seven days a week. Lunch and dinner are served in separate sessions with a break in between. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 3188 8015. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. More information is on its website, facebook.com.
At 3.9 out of 5 on Google (532 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Kwun Tong is part of the Kwun Tong District in Kowloon. Kowloon is densely packed: Nathan Road runs north from Tsim Sha Tsui towards Prince Edward, lined along with its side streets by shops, restaurants and upstairs businesses, and most places are a few minutes' walk from an MTR station. Mong Kok's street markets, Sham Shui Po's electronics and fabric streets and Kowloon City's Thai restaurants are familiar landmarks for shopping and eating.

Hidden gem of a restaurant! When we saw the sign at the industrial site house we didn't expect a 5star restaurant for bargain prices inside! The food was absolutely delicious, probably the best japanese meals I've ever tasted. Cozy ambiente and decorated with attention to detail, with so much to visually explore. Very kind and fast service and I've paid only 160HKD for everything shown in the picture. If you can't decide where to eat, this is your sign to go there!

**Black Dragon Roll – $108** This generously filled roll features a rich combination of avocado, deep-fried crab stick, cheese, and eel. The textures are well layered—creamy avocado, crispy crab, and tender eel—all held together by compactly pressed sushi rice. A drizzle of eel sauce ties the ingredients together, adding a mild sweetness and keeping each bite moist without overpowering the flavors. **California Roll – $45** Topped with a generous amount of tobiko, each piece offers a satisfying crunch and burst of briny flavor. The roll is neatly prepared, and with six large pieces per serving, it easily serves as a light main dish or a substantial starter. The balance of creamy avocado, crab stick, and flying fish roe makes for a classic, well-executed roll. **Salt-Grilled Chicken Mid-Wings – $28** These wings are simply seasoned with salt to emphasize the natural flavor of the chicken. Grilled over charcoal, they carry a subtle smokiness that enhances the crisped skin and juicy interior. The seasoning is restrained but effective, allowing the grilled aroma to take center stage. **“Kokon” Japanese Pan-Fried Dumplings – $56** Filled with diced chicken and shredded napa cabbage,

Kokon2 offers really yummy, freshly prepared, Japanese food. The entrance is a little difficult to find, up the stairs and tucked away inside an industrial building, but totally worth a visit! The staff are friendly and attentive. The house tea is mild in flavour which compliments the tasty food. I recommend the fruit smoothies if you enjoy chilled drinks. Cobsidering each dish was relatively generous in size compared to other sushi restaurants on Hong Kong, the prices are reasonable. I loved the crispy fried rice dishes. Visa and Mastercard are accepted but not American Express. I highly recommend Kokon2.
