When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Bakeries usually bake fresh in the morning and late afternoon, and popular items can sell out early.

Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Fri 08:00–21:00, Sat–Sun 09:00–21:00. It opens every day of the week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2380 1920. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. Its website is orchidpadaria.com.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.

Huge variety of pastries (egg tarts, pineapple buns). They even had a HUGE pineapple bun as a ‘cake’. We took 6 types of egg tarts (4+2 free) and one original pineapple bun. All the egg tarts (original, milk tea, pandan, creme brulee) were good. The pineapple bun was mid (stale and the top just fell off).

Cute lil bakery store on the corner of the road. Cute interior and baked goods. I really like pandan and the store had a wide range of pandan goods so I decided to visit. Takeout only. I got 3 items and it came to ~$55 HKD. no queue when I went around 10am. pandan egg tart: black puff pastry with a green filling. Personally I found the visuals quite interesting. Taste wise, it was ok. Didn't feel like a chinese egg tart but more like a tart. Not too sweet. Some sort of jam like kaya at the bottom of the tart in the middle. pandan pudding: a milk based pudding. The pudding wasnt too firm but not too runny either. Strong pandan taste. Pudding was quite smooth so I personally liked it. not too sweet either. pandan pineapple pun with custard: this was ok but not the best. The pineapple bun did taste like a pineapple bun (somewhat) but not the best. Top wasnt crumbly and the bun itself wasnt that soft. The custard filling on the inside was on the edge of 1 side of the bun so I didnt actually get to it until after eating 3/4 of the bun. The custard filling was like the chinese custard bun fillings and it was more on the thicker side. Overall: visually appealling and not too expensiv

I’ve heard of the name of “Orchid Padaria" since I was little, but I didn’t expect it to be so trendy after rebranding. Many items have pandan flavor, but this is my first time trying it. I opted for the most basic one - Crème Brûlée Puff Pastry Egg Tart, which is a French-style pudding layered puff pastry tart for HK$18. The tart shell is quite crispy, and the pudding is decent but nothing special—no big surprises. The value for money isn’t that high.

Orchid Padaria (@orchidpadaria), right across from World Trade Centre in Causeway Bay, has given these buns a modern twist. Alongside the classic and pineapple flavors, they offer unique options like mochi sesame, brown sugar mochi, matcha red bean, and even pineapple croissants. These buns are soft, fragrant, and irresistibly crispy. But that’s not all! They also have colorful croissants with flavors like honey corn, pistachio, tiramisu, rose earl grey, yuzu orange, and rich coffee. Plus, a variety of egg tarts, Danish pastries, and traditional cakes—all freshly baked and 100% made in Hong Kong. Perfect for any occasion, these treats are as delicious as they are Instagram-worthy!

Can’t believe the local famous bakery, Orchid Padaria opened its first branch on Hong Kong Island finally. I picked out four kinds of pastry in the store, the staff told me that all pastries were baked on site every day, so we can enjoy 100% made in Hong Kong food. There are two famous signature pastries are the mini croissants and mini pineapple buns. Tiramisu and coffee were the two flavours I chose for the croissants, and they had this sesame mochi pineapple bun that looks very photogenic. But my absolute favourite of this time’s purchase was the Nutella cruffin. This is the first time I have ever had a cruffin before, and I was so impressed.
