When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Dim sum restaurants usually charge a per-person tea fee, and dishes are priced by size; weekend mornings from about 10:00 to lunchtime are the busiest, and many places give out queue tickets. Book wedding and birthday banquets months ahead.
Opening hours: daily, 07:00–23:00. It opens every day of the week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. Phone: 2338 2318. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. More information is on its website, lungdimsum.com.
At 4.1 out of 5 on Google (706 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

We were exploring the Wan Chai area when we stopped by Lung Dim Sum, which had been on my hubby's must-try list. We were seated immediately, and ordering was easy. We simply scanned the QR code and placed our order through the restaurant's website. We ordered the Dim Sum Combo, Crispy Red Rice Rolls with Prawn & Pork, the Lung Seafood Dumpling Platter (available only in Hong Kong), Hong Kong-style rice rolls, and congee with century egg and lean pork. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Our favorites were the Dim Sum Combo and the Seafood Dumpling Platter. The dumplings were flavorful, and the presentation of each dish was beautiful and very appetizing. The prices were quite reasonable. Our meal came to about HK$330 (around US$42), including tea and the 10% service charge. Since the service charge is already included, there's no need to leave an additional tip in Hong Kong. Overall, we had a wonderful dim sum experience there.

The elder male staff was friendly and welcoming🙂😁Ordering was very easy thanks to the free Wi-Fi and QR code system provided at the table. While most of the food was enjoyable, one of the dim sum dishes tasted overly fishy and didn't seem as fresh as it should have been. Overall, the service and convenience were good, but the food quality was a little inconsistent.

Had a wonderful dim sum experience at Lung Dim Sum. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The dumplings were delicate and packed with filling, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. Service was efficient and friendly despite how busy the restaurant was. The atmosphere felt authentic and lively, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Definitely one of the highlights of my food journey in Hong Kong, and a place I would happily return to on my next visit🫰🏻

If you’re looking for a break from the standard, clattering teahouses of Hong Kong, Lung Dim Sum on Hennessy Road in Wan Chai is a fantastic modern alternative. It strikes a balance between "Instagram-worthy" aesthetics and genuine culinary innovation, making it a hit for both younger locals and curious travelers. The Food: Creative Meets Classic The menu is famous for its "Fantastic Six" (Premium Dim Sum Combo), which is perfect if you’re dining solo or can't decide. It features colorful, inventive bites like the Salted Egg Cuttlefish Siu Mai—where the rich, oozy yolk perfectly complements the snappy cuttlefish. Another standout is the Red Rice Roll with Crispy Prawn, offering a satisfying crunch inside a silky crimson wrap. For those who like a kick, their fusion siu mai variations (like Curry Beef or Black Pepper Crab) are bold departures from tradition. Atmosphere & Service The decor is vibrant and energetic, blending traditional Chinese elements with a "Chinatown-chic" neon aesthetic. Unlike the rushed feeling of older spots, it feels like a trendy cafe. Vibe: Bright, clean, and youthful. Service: Generally efficient, though it can get "fast-paced" during peak lunch hour
