Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

this is one of the best teppanyaki restaurant in hong kong i'm sure. things are at a very high standard. the place was quiet and cozy, they offer a cabinet to store our belongings that keep it away from any scents. we were seated at the round big teppan that we could see the chef cooking, that's really the big part that a teppanyaki dinner must have. we're served by chef "master ball" that night and he was very professional. skillful cooking that manage the time really well, and he (and the serving team, nonetheless) was very caring too to see what we were up to and all our needs. i really enjoyed the fish and the thick cut wagyu. before getting to the dessert, we were served with a sugar toast, that was amazing! we saw him cook to sugar from loose to brown and burnt, then let the toast completely take up the caramel, it was super tasty and crispy! no matter what the rice and anything stuff up the stomach, i must always have a room for this toast! everything was excellent, great night i had here.

I am honestly so impressed with Minato in both food, interior design and service! With the high ceiling and cozy zen environment, it makes you feel like the food is going to be amazing! We did the omakase and every piece of sushi was super fresh. The dishes beforehand were all made with care and delicacy! Service was wonderful as well, would def come back for sure!!

Transport to Japan 🇯🇵 at Minato with their gorgeous zen 🧘‍♀️ luxurious interior! They offer both teppenyaki and lunch sets. On weekends, they’ve got exclusive bentos that are worth a try! . 🤎 Nashi - comes with wagyu with the sweetest yolk and sweet chilled tofu. Loved mixing in the yolk with the wagyu that added so much flavour to the beef. . 🤍 Ume - comes with this huge isoyaki abalone with cold ume somen. The somen really refreshes the palette making you feel super light after the meal! . Both bento comes with this fresh assorted sashimi 🍣 donburi! All sashimi was thinly sliced with care. Bento also comes with appetiser and dessert/coffee. . Revisit? Yes 🙌🏻 📌 - Wan Chai

Minato is well-known for its teppanyaki, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that its omakase offering is just as impressive! The sushi chef showcased remarkable skill, and the ingredients used were incredibly fresh. Given its prime location, I found the menu to be reasonably priced. The restaurant features a lovely design and the service was excellent throughout our visit. Plus, it’s conveniently located just a minute away from the Exhibition Centre Station. It is definitely one of the top choices for Japanese food in the Wanchai area!

Obsessed with the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Seriously, it was the most tender, flavorful beef I've ever tasted. I've always been a huge fan of seafood, so I was particularly excited about the King Prawn and South African Abalone in the Tsubaki Teppanyaki Weekend Set. They didn't disappoint! 🍤 The quality was exceptional, and the chef's preparation really highlighted their natural flavors. 🔪🇯🇵 The whole set was amazing (HK$738 per person, two-person minimum), but that Wagyu was the star of the show. If you're a beef lover, you NEED to try this. 🥩❤️
