Cafés, bakeries, dessert and drinks shops are often mainly takeaway with a few seats, and weekend afternoons are the busiest. Many accept Octopus, credit cards and e-wallets, and some run loyalty schemes or pre-orders; birthday cakes and festive boxes (mooncakes at Mid-Autumn, for example) usually need ordering in advance, a few days ahead on popular dates. If you plan to work or study in a café, check for power sockets and any seating time limit.
Opening hours: daily, 08:00–21:30. It is open seven days a week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. You can call 2833 6778; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. Its website is passionehkcafe.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

Food is bland, second time here. Doesn't have much flavour, ordered pizza and pasta. Chocolate milk tasted like milk, coffee was weak. Staff a bit blunt or unfriendly. Looks like they do not enjoy working here, specifically upstairs team. Same issue as our first time. Probably won't return.

I visited today specifically craving a Kouign-Amann and a Canelé, and was glad to find Passione serves both. However, the pastries were just ordinary. The canelé crust lacked crunch, and while the interior was nicely custardy, it needed more vanilla flavour. The Kouign-Amann was buttery but a bit too sweet and soggy. On the bright side, the roast beef sourdough sandwich and kale salad remain my absolute favourites here! There is plenty of seating upstairs, though the air conditioning is quite weak in some corners.

As a Connoisseur of coffee and cafe shops, this place is banging… Maria I think… is very very very very good at making coffee. As portrayed in excerpt 1. If I could give 10 stars I would but 5 will have to suffice.

Came here just for coffee and snack. The coffee was good -- 4 stars -- unfortunately, the knotted pretzel and the pretzel roll were not. I'm a huge fan of pretzels in any shape or form, so everywhere I go, if I see pretzels, I will get it. The ones here might have been sitting out too long. They were very dry and the texture was extremely dense and hard, not a pleasant eating experience. The coffee on the other hand, was lovely. Have not had much luck with coffee in HK after being in Vietnam for an extended period of time. I would definitely come back again for coffee.

Great place for nice food The atmosphere is fantastic with indoor and outdoor dining spaces The layout and the presentation is great Good selection of salads and sandwiches Desserts and drinks 2 call-outs which was not good The mixed beans salad was not fresh- it got a bit stale taste Also the hot chocolate was not strong enough- very average Service is ok but the staff gets panic and mixed up plates. Need to prepare one bill together as one of our dishes were done 1st and the 2nd one took almost 8 more mins. So the 1st one was already cold
