We visited Porterhouse this evening and were impressed by the overall dining experience. The food was the highlight of the night, with dishes prepared to a consistently high standard. To be honest, the food was underwhelming and the service was surly. There weren't many customers—perhaps because it was a Monday—with only three tables occupied at most. After we finished our meal, the waiters kept hovering around us, which felt like they were rushing us to pay the bill. We ordered the all-you-can-eat steak; the texture and flavor were decent, but everything else was just average.

Porterhouse’s set lunch is a solid Blue Monday remedy. The bright, elegant space high up in California Tower, with floor-to-ceiling windows over sunny Central, instantly eases the weekday grind. Food is spot-on: warm, bouncy bread with cheese crisps; rich, layered lobster bisque; ultra-fresh oysters. Mains deliver—perfectly seared, juicy Black Angus sirloin with crisp rosemary potatoes, and sweet Boston lobster cleverly paired with sesame noodles and mushroom soy. Uplifting and satisfying.

Tried their RUMP & ROLL menu with 1 starter, lobster bisque, 1 main and 90 mins unlimited wagyu rump steak!! Only $388 per person! The rump steak was so beefy and surprisingly very tender! It pairs well with the cream peppercorn sauce. Also loved their beef carpaccio, lobster bisque and mussels with white wine sauce! The vibe there was also quite romantic, perfect for date night!

The Wagyu Beef Tartare started strong with melt-in-your-mouth beef balanced by a tangy egg yolk sauce. Appetizers like the Enoki Crisp offered a satisfying crunch, while the Bang Bang Shrimp delighted with bouncy, sweet meat and a flavorful shrimp oil sauce. The richness peaked with the Roasted Bone Marrow, its intense fat pairing perfectly with garlic bread. A fresh Garden Salad provided a necessary palate cleanser before the Wagyu Picanha, cooked to a perfect medium-rare, showcased juicy, robust beef flavors. Finally, a warm Apple Crumble concluded the feast with a comforting mix of tart fruit and crispy topping.
