Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only. Dim sum restaurants usually charge a per-person tea fee, and dishes are priced by size; weekend mornings from about 10:00 to lunchtime are the busiest, and many places give out queue tickets. Book wedding and birthday banquets months ahead.
Opening hours: daily, 12:00–16:00 and 17:00–21:00. It opens every day of the week. There is a break between the lunch and dinner sessions. Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

The Char Siu is fire. Tender with some fatty goodness. Great flavor. The chicken thigh upgrade could be better and certainly wouldn’t pay $60 extra add-on for one. The lack of house made drinks is a let down but they have bottled drinks if you fancy. In any case, a tasty spot. Came here at 3pm without the wait. Good appetite!

I personally tried many char siew in South East Asia especially in my own country. I would say this is “good” but not tip top/ best of the world (personal preference). Came in off peak hour I and rainy day I was only queue for 10min. Staff are well trained. Great hospitality and helpful to get the order done Special dish would be roast goose and braised chicken with alcohol

Solid plates of cantonese roast meats Tried the HK style charsiu (leaner cut), goose, and maotai (braised chicken) Was blown away by the maotai chicken. So juicy, tender and an unmistakably unique aroma ans zing that I presume comes from the maotai Lines are out the door before opening, so be prepared to queue!

queued for 30mins, food comes fast. char siu was flavourful. soy chicken was almost cold with little flavour. i paid extra for chicken breast and still wasn’t worth it. portions are okay, meat juices didn’t really marinate rice enough. for $82 it was okay but i wouldn’t return :/

Char Siu Rice with Double Ran King Eggs $88 The standout of this dish is undoubtedly the char siu, which carries a distinct charcoal-grilled aroma. Each bite delivers a light smokiness and slight caramelized char, while still retaining its natural juiciness. The quality of the char siu is impressive — beautifully balanced between lean meat and fat, tender without ever becoming dry, and packed with layers of flavor. Paired with two Ran King eggs, the dish gains an extra level of richness. The egg yolks are especially flavorful and creamy, and when mixed into the rice, they add a silky, full-bodied texture to the bowl. The rice itself is also worth mentioning: perfectly cooked, dry yet fluffy, with each grain distinct. It absorbs the rendered char siu juices and egg yolk beautifully without turning soggy, which helps bring out the overall depth and balance of the dish. Moutai Soy Sauce Chicken & Roast Goose Rice $80 The soy sauce chicken is flavorful without being overly salty, and the meat remains tender and succulent, with a light layer of fragrant oil beneath the skin. The roast goose, on the other hand, offers crisp skin, rich meat, and a satisfying fattiness that gives each bi
