Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.
Cafés, bakeries, dessert and drinks shops are often mainly takeaway with a few seats, and weekend afternoons are the busiest. Many accept Octopus, credit cards and e-wallets, and some run loyalty schemes or pre-orders; birthday cakes and festive boxes (mooncakes at Mid-Autumn, for example) usually need ordering in advance, a few days ahead on popular dates. Bakeries usually bake fresh in the morning and late afternoon, and popular items can sell out early.
Opening hours: Mon–Tue closed, Wed–Sat 12:00–19:00, Sun 12:00–18:00. It is open 5 days a week. It opens on Sunday too, like most places to eat in Hong Kong. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. No phone number is listed, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best starting point for directions and any contact details Google has. More information is on its website, finesse-patisserie.com.
It has a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 29 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.
Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

Tiny shop with 2 outdoor seats, but the quality of its bakes more than made up for it. Was hard to decide when all the cakes looked like a flavour bomb. Fruity, tangy, creamy, chocolatey... coffee, matcha, sesame, mango... Went as per staff's recommendation and got the lemon tart ie Citron Noir. Beautifully crafted; attention to details. Amazing textures; delicious layers that complemented each other. Bought quite a number of their other baked goods that can survive my flight home.

I stumbled upon this little bakery while on my way to grab a coffee, and I’m so glad I did. It’s a small shop, but all the baked goods on display looked incredibly tempting. I ended up buying several items, and every single one was delicious. My personal favorites were the madeleine and the citron noir—both were absolutely outstanding. The shop doesn’t have indoor seating, but there are a few small seats outside where you can sit and enjoy your treats. This was easily one of my favorite finds during my trip to Hong Kong. I would definitely come back again.

Amazing French pastries. A must try. The only reason it’s not a 5⭐️ is because of the prices, the lemon tart is 75 HKD. Picked the black lemon tart and the cacao flan. The tart is very tasty and very well executed. The flan is outstanding and remind me of a flan which is seen as one of the best if not the best flan in Paris which is from the Bristol Hotel. The mix of textures is making huge difference. The chocolate is clearly high quality, perfectly balanced and doesn’t taste very sugary. It’s a very delicious flan and a must try. It was my first time at finesse and for a special occasion, I will be happy to taste other items.

My wife got me a puff pastry from this shop when she came across it randomly. The shop keeper went up to her to introduce the pastries. Normally my wife discourages me from having desserts but the pastries there were enticing enough to break down her resistance. It turned out she had good eyes. The one little pastry came in a box and a costly insulated bag. The pastry exceeded my expectations. It was excellent. The philo crust was flaky, the whipped cream was light, the cake bottom was spongy and airy, and the sweetness was about right, maybe just a little more sweet than I prefer. I would like to have more.
