About FRENCHIES

Bakery & Coffee

We love the early mornings with the crispiness of the bread being baked fresh every day, the coffee beans being ground just before brewing. Handmade. Daily.

FRENCHIES is listed under bakeries & cake shops in Central, Central and Western. The address is 香港島中環荷李活道39號. Below you will find what people usually look up before a visit: the exact location, contact details, opening hours and the Google rating.

When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Many open seven days a week, but some small shops take a weekly day off; for cakes or large orders of pastries, calling ahead is the safest bet. Bakeries usually bake fresh in the morning and late afternoon, and popular items can sell out early.

Opening hours: daily, 07:00–19:00. It opens every day of the week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. No phone number is listed, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best starting point for directions and any contact details Google has. Its website is frenchiesbake.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

Customers give it an average of 4.3 out of 5 on Google (192 reviews), a high score by any measure.

Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

It’s a cute little shop that I passed by many times and finally paid a visit. Tried their espresso cinnamon bun, however, I couldn’t taste any coffee flavor. It’s just a nice cinnamon bun. I also tried their croissant and black coffee. Coffee was just normal, and the croissant was unimpressive. I think overall it’s not bad but it’s not mind blowing. Still I may still come again.

The orange almond croissant is amazing—buttery and flaky😋one of the best croissant I’ve ever had in hk! Their signature latte (with vanilla syrup) is tasty too!

Passed by this coffee spot while strolling around Central District and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I noticed a long line outside — always a good sign — and true enough, it delivered. I got their Specialty Latte and Pain au Chocolat, and both didn’t disappoint. The bread was freshly baked, and the coffee was perfectly prepared. The place is quite small, clearly designed for quick grab-and-go customers, but it adds to that cozy Central street charm. Definitely well-rated for a reason! ☕🥐✨

I came here to get a loaf of plain sourdough in preparation for Typhoon Ragasa. I was pleasantly surprised by the weight of the bread when I received it. We couldn’t wait to try it while it was still warm. The crust was satisfyingly chewy, and the crumb was soft and moist. It was delicious plain, but I'm planning to make grilled ham and cheese with it too. The ambiance is cozy, and the service was nice and welcoming. I’m looking forward to coming back to try the croissants next!

Nice cafe with amazing croissants. I love to have them when fresh out of the oven and they will heat them up if you want. It is small place with a few chairs inside and a bench outside. Has a nice vibe and friendly staff. Did I mention they do fantastic coffees ☕️ Love ❤️ their lattes. The place gets super busy so come early if you can. Location is super convenient just off the escalator on Hollywood Road. Have good sourdough bread and nice sandwiches too.
