This morning, on my way to work, I stopped by the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong Cake Shop to try my second croissant. The Cake Shop is located on the 2nd floor of Prince's Building (Shop 242-243) at 10 Chater Road, Hong Kong. It's a beautiful cake shop displaying whole cakes, pastries and chocolates. The service staff are very friendly and efficient. I bought a croissant for HK$38, one of the more expensive croissants in Hong Kong. It was large, golden brown, but not as fresh as the amo.ago croissant that I had a few days before. It tasted OK. It's probably not as good value for money as the amo.ago croissant is only HK$24. You are really paying for the name and brand of Mandarin Oriental.

Beautiful space, beautiful pastries and desserts. Their cheesecake which they’ve been making the same way since 1963 was incredible and worth trying. The sandwiches were delicious. The Mandarin Cake shop is a nice place for an afternoon break from the hustle and bustle of Central.

In my quest for the ultimate dark chocolate cake, I sampled birthday cakes from several top hotels in HK: The Regent, Peninsula, Rosewood, and The Mandarin Cake Shop. For pure flavor, The Peninsula and The Mandarin were the standouts. Both feature a wonderfully dense and smooth chocolate cake. Peninsula's classic mousse is perfection, period. While Mandarin's offers a comparable mastery with a little more creative twist. Rosewood's cake was the most Instagram-worthy, delicious, and the best value for money of all. The Regent's ranked last in terms of taste. Good cake, but not so memorable.

Excellent service level and I could describe it as the best ever I have experienced in my life. Every staff will greet when they have eye contact with you. The quality of cakes and coffe are always decent and delighted to enjoy with. Having been celebrating my birthday her for few times before and will recommend for those who would like to have some leisure time with relaxation.
