About 福和雍 House Of Orient
Return to the heights of East-meets-West cultural convergence, crafting authentic and exquisite dim sum experience as a ritual in recreating the Hong Kong class and Cantonese elegance.
福和雍 House Of Orient, a Cantonese and dim sum restaurant in Central, Central and Western, is at C and D, 2/F, 30 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong Island. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.
When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead.
Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Fri 09:00–19:00, Sat–Sun 09:00–18:00. It opens every day of the week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 2123 9263; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. More information is on its website, houseoforient.net.
At 4.2 out of 5 on Google (161 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Quiet and refined surroundings. We came early so was quiet but filled up fast. The presentation and service is very nice and the food is reasonably priced. Will be telling more people to come here.

A wonderful high class dim sum place. Quiet & easy to talk. Fantastic customer service. Each dim sum was delicious! Ok maybe except the wrapped chicken which was a little dry. Big fan of the baked sago pudding which can usually be quite dry. Better service + better food does = more expensive

Dim sum was on point. Fresh and tasty. XO Cheong Fun was delicious. Not too spicy. Great for business meeting or lunch with colleagues.

Convenient location and great for a quick stop-over brunch/lunch while shopping or doing business in Central. Delicate yet not expensive. Particularly like Their steamed beef & tangerine-peel rice, silky-chicken soup (big portion — got about half of a silky-chicken in it), and Bai-Ye Tofu (hundred-layered tofu). Dim sum collection are standard and decent. Good variety of tea ( my fav is the Ginseng Oolong). Multiple visits!

Very impressed overall with quality of food and service. At the House Of Orient expect to be served good old traditional style dim sum with no new style cute colourful dishes. The quality of food is high in general, the only dish I did not like was the steam fish maw, they added too much msg in the dish. All the food came out hot and wait staff were attentive. They also made sure to bring out the dessert last when we finished all savoury dishes which was a very nice touch. Seating is very comfortable and spacious. I forgot I was in the middle of Central while inside the restaurant because it’s so quiet and relaxing. We visited on a Saturday at 11:30am.
