The food was excellent HOWEVER, beware of ordering the Peking duck. We ordered the dim sum platter & razor clams with charred Sichuan pepper (which was a highlight for me). Now the duck on the menu does not specify Half or whole. I checked with the waiter if ordering half is possible, he said no, it’s non negotiable & the serving will be Whole. At which point I decided the steep price of 888 HKD is reasonable. When it arrived, they cut it in front of you; where we noticed there was plenty of meat left. Once we finished the small portion of duck, we asked what happens to the remaining meat left, and the waiter explained that they can do a diced duck dish, however, this comes at an additional 198 HKD. Total now being 1086. When this arrived too, this was a very finely diced dish, mixed in with lots of vegetables to appear more voluminous. Therefore, this wasn’t necessarily the leftover duck that we had, nor did it equate to the WHOLE duck like we were told. It felt like they were keeping the leftover meat for anyone who would order the diced duck separate to the Peking order, rather than making use of the full portion for the customer who ordered. We don’t mind paying premium pri

What an incredible evening! The food was absolutely spectacular, and you could taste the care and creativity in every bite. Each dish was thoughtfully curated by the chefs — a true four‑hand collaboration that brought out the best of both culinary worlds. From start to finish, the flavors, presentation, and pacing were flawless. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable fine dining experience.

We loved the century eggs! The chicken was cooked to perfection. Everything we ordered was delicious, impeccable service and great selection of wines. The restaurant design also feel very refined. Overall a great experience!

The Chinese Library is part of the Aqua Group. We have already visited the Vista and The Hutong, but the Chinese Library is different. Without large glass front, the focus here is entirely on the culinary experience. The restaurant is hidden at Hong Kong's former executive and judicial district. The interior is elegant and cozy as well. We had an eight-course menu, including the 45-day imperial duck with 5 homemade sauces, which was sensational. All the courses were perfectly coordinated and an absolute delight. A final cocktail in the adjoining bar, overlooking the nearby Tai Kwun, made the evening a culinary top notch experience. Many thanks to the entire team.

Second time here. We ordered a seasonal set. The Char Siu is absolutely stunning. The dim sum and soup is quite innovative. The waiter will explain every dishes to you patiently. You can hear customers whispering different languages. The vibe is comfortable. But I prefer classical or jazzing BGM.
