About La Viña Bakery (Shui On Centre)
Signature basque burnt cheesecake and brunch sets. "Basque burnt cheesecake is an enigma: ugly, yet alluring; burnt, yet undercooked; and easy to make, yet almost impossible to perfect." La Viña brings the original recipe for this decadent treat from San Sebastián to Hong Kong, alongside a range of classically inspired baked goods such as sough dough bread, croissant and mille feuille cakes.
La Viña Bakery (Shui On Centre) is a bakery in Wan Chai, at G/F Shop 5, 瑞安中心6-8 Harbour Rd, Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.
When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Many open seven days a week, but some small shops take a weekly day off; for cakes or large orders of pastries, calling ahead is the safest bet. Bakeries usually bake fresh in the morning and late afternoon, and popular items can sell out early.
Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Sat 08:30–17:30, Sun closed. That makes 6 working days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 9661 5106. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. As this is a mobile number, a WhatsApp message may also work. Its website is lavina.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.
At 4.2 out of 5 on Google (59 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

Basque cheesecake is rich and smooth. The small one is not runny inside but the taste is still good. Limited seating if you want to eat-in.

The flavours of the various cheesecakes are phenomenal and have complex characteristics that match with the textures. The presentations are always on point. I have probably shopped here a dozen times and I have always been satisfied. In addition, every once awhile they come with new awesome recipes while perfecting the old ones. Also easy and sometimes free parking with minimum purchase and relaxing seating at the World Trade Center .

3.5 stars Venue: Pinky sofa at the entrance entrance for photo only. The right side is the takeaway counter, kitchen, and cashier. The left side is the dining area. Decorated in Fancy pink and Japanese wooden style. Few small tables. Relaxing atomphere. Have a self-service counter very inside for water, serveitte, and utensils. --- 7.2/10 Service: clear verbal instructions. Place orders by scaning QR code. We ordered the first round and then some drinks in the second round. They reminded us that they had changed to set for good value. Polite staff. Reasonable waitingtime for food and drink --- 7.3/10 F&B: Bilingual menu. Some savory food was sold out in the late afternoon. Simple food presentation. Prices on high side. Normal portion. -Pistachio Raspberry Millie Feuille, $108: served very fast. Crispy millie feuille. Too high expectation. --- 7.5/10 - Osmanthus Jasmine Pistachio Oatmilk Tea, $54: Tea bag. Had some crushed pistachio enough. --- 6.7/10 - Duck Breast Salad Yuzu Dressing,$108: 5pcs of smoked Duck Breast were small and thin, like dry bacon in texture. You can choose dressing on the side. That's good. But it's just 15ml. Not enough for me. Mixed green, Avocado, and ch

Strawberry Mille-feuille layers were flaky and the cream and fresh fruits just made it a perfect balance of flavors. Basque burnt cheesecake, which is a must-try. It's creamy and not too sweet, and the texture is just so smooth and satisfying. The cozy and Instagrammable interior design of La Viña top it up to make this place worth visiting for their delicious desserts.

La Viña got its start as a take-away place along Graham Street in Central where they serve one of the very best Basque style cheesecakes you find in Hong Kong. Recently with the reopening of the WTC shopping mall in Causeway Bay, La Viña has opened up its first sit down eatery. Opening hours are 10am to 8pm daily. At this new and much larger eatery where La Viña offers a much wider range of desserts, coffee and non-coffee drinks which you can enjoy at one of their tables. Most come for the Basque style cheesecake. They have three types; original, original with Yuzu or Matcha. Just go with their original, it is really good. Take-away is also an option at this new branch as well. Desserts are packaged nicely for transport if you want to take back to your hotel, as long as you have a fridge.
