About 美麗小廚

美麗小廚 is a Cantonese and dim sum restaurant in Wan Chai, at 香港島灣仔譚臣道105-111號豪富商業大廈一樓. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it. This is an upstairs shop: the way in is usually through the building lobby rather than from the street, so check the building name, floor and unit before you go and allow a few minutes for the lift.

Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 12:00–16:00 and 17:00–01:30. There is a break between the lunch and dinner sessions. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 6803 1818; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. It is a mobile number, and many local businesses also answer enquiries on WhatsApp. Its website is flowerdrum.com.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

It has a Google rating of 3.8 out of 5 from 249 reviews. Opinions are mixed but broadly steady, and the latest reviews are the best guide to what to expect.

Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving.

I love the retro atmosphere of this place, yes it can be slightly noisy, but that is typically a dining restaurant in Hong Kong. You have the right buzz, people are gathering with their family or someone might be dying by themselves, you have the variety. That definitely gave me the nostalgia. Staff were great, they gave us some recommendations and when we ask some of the questions they did suggest some of the things on the menu as well. Best thing is they helped us decide on the dessert because there were so many different options and they gave us the right one. It was the first time where I have tasted a dessert where it contains sweet, savoury, spicy, and a bit of bitterness. Also the texture and everything was absolutely fantastic. It was the stirfry mochi balls. Food wise everything was amazing really can’t fault any of the stuff that we ordered. One regret as we didn’t invite enough people so we can actually try more things on the menu. Though that is a sign for us to go back again when we can. Overall, a great experience and a big thank you for the staff with the hospitality. Giving us a wonderful dining experience. To manage expectations this place is very popul

Not sure why it has such a low rating. We have claypot rice which is super nice. The seafood and other dishes are all done at very high quality. And some dishes are creative and unique. The waiter is energetic and offer good service. The only downside is having to walk upstairs which might be tricky for elders.

Great menu selection offering new interpretation of traditional HK dishes. Claypot rice and tea leaves with chicken is are both must eat items. The place is clean and staff very friendly. Do note they have a 90min eating period, so if you want a place to sit and chat for a longer period this may not be the place for you.

THE BOOKING DRAMA Booked ahead for a group of six, which required a $600 booking fee to be deducted from the final bill. Arrived on time, but while half the group had already reached the restaurant, the other half, being seniors, walked a bit slower. The host, however, refused to seat us until everyone arrived, vaguely explaining that she was “waiting for upstairs.” The interaction felt dismissive, as if we weren't being treated as customers. Later, it became obvious that was just an excuse. STAIRS AND CHAOS After climbing the steep stairs to the second floor, the dining area was extremely loud—so noisy it was nearly impossible to hold a conversation. FLAVORS THAT IMPRESS That said, the food was undeniably impressive. Every dish was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right balance of wok hei. The sea eel clay pot rice and the golden oyster clay pot rice were both standouts, with creative toppings that added a unique twist. The chicken was another highlight—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. And the classic Hong Kong-style lemon tea slurpee? Absolutely amazing. TO RETURN OR NOT TO RETURN? While the food was excellent, the confusing bo

Nice food but long waiting time and they don’t wanna take reservation for small group. While the place is famous for its claypot rice, it’s just not for me. The dessert is surprisingly good. Highly recommend dishes with clams and pork ribs. 服务员都很友好。
