When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Dim sum restaurants usually charge a per-person tea fee, and dishes are priced by size; weekend mornings from about 10:00 to lunchtime are the busiest, and many places give out queue tickets. Book wedding and birthday banquets months ahead.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 10:00–22:30. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 2882 3443; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there.

Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

One of my go-to spots for suckling pig. Usually get the platter with roast goose, both are equally good. Always packed with locals too.

Very delicious! Seven of us went for the set menu for six people. It’s plenty. Get a little bit extra if you are really hungry. The roasted goose is the must have, so good, remember to try the plum sauce with the goose.

Roast goose was mid but we really enjoyed the suckling pig and crispy pork belly. They were salted perfectly—crispy pork belly had a balanced amount of fat and didn’t taste dry while the suckling pig’s skin was a bit fatty but so delightful. Would go back and order those and not the roast goose tbh 😆

Went at tea time and picked the roasted goose noodles, it was service very fast. The soup and noodles were standard, but the goose leg was not good as expected. It's a small portion, which quantity good only at tea time.

The place may not boast the grandeur of a Mayfair townhouse, but what it lacks in decor, it more than compensates for with exceptional food and impeccable service. The roast goose - succulent, perfectly crisped skin with that delightful layer of rich, flavourful fat beneath. it was the sort of dish that makes you pause mid-bite and reconsider your life choices (mainly why you hadn’t discovered this place sooner). The service was refreshingly brisk but attentive. Despite the lunchtime rush, the staff managed to keep things running like a well-oiled machine. Now, while I didn’t order the char siu myself, I couldn’t help but eye the glossy, caramelised slices on our neighbouring table. The kind of irresistible sheen that suggests a perfect balance of sweetness and savoury depth. If appearances are anything to go by, it’s firmly on the list for my next visit. The atmosphere is wonderfully authentic. The kind of no-frills, bustling energy that speaks to the confidence of a Hong Kong kitchen that knows exactly what it’s doing. Fellow diners were a mix of locals and a few in-the-know visitors, all united by the shared understanding that they were indulging in something rather speci
