Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

We were in Hong Kong for a few nights and this bakery was a short walk from where we stayed - it was so good that we ended up going here every morning to start our day! I like my matcha with coconut water, and although they normally do a matcha coconut cloud with cream which I don’t enjoy, so I appreciated when I asked if they could do a simple matcha coconut that they happily made it for me! The yogurt granola bowl and chocolate chip oatmeal cookie were super tasty too. Highly recommend if you’re in central.

I went to Social Goods twice in one day. I can say that social goods is a very good bakery. The first time I went around 1:00, there was a long queue for dine in, so I just got takeout. Unfortunately, eggies were out of stock and the next batch would be out at 1:30, so I just got a pain Au chocolat. That Pain Au Chocolat was actually really good without being too sweet, it was also pretty big and looked really visually appealing as well. The person who took my order was very nice. Next time I went around 4:00 with my dad and his friend, I dined in and got eggies for takeout, but dine in and takeout together requires a service charge (not bad, just letting you know). I also got a matcha latte and a French toast. French Toast was good! (I just couldn’t finish it 😅) . As for the eggies, those tasted like a regular egg tart, but I do appreciate the creativity and I could tell there was a lot of thought put into making the eggies. Service was also stellar! It’s a nice cafe where you can chat with friends while enjoying their really nice food and chill. They have a no laptop policy (which I assume is for having social interactions as they are called social goods), which I also appreci

We visited Social Goods Modern Bakery several times for a late breakfast during our stay in Hong Kong, and every visit was outstanding. The food is not only delicious but also fresh, healthy, and beautifully prepared. It's the perfect place if you're looking for a breakfast that feels both indulgent and nourishing. What truly sets this café apart, however, is the exceptional service. On one visit, we came on a Saturday when the café was extremely busy. Despite the rush, the staff kept us informed throughout the wait, regularly updating us with realistic waiting times and the status of our table. That level of communication made the wait feel effortless. The biggest surprise came when my son accidentally dropped his entire breakfast. Within moments, staff was there to help clean everything up, reassure him, and bring him a freshly prepared replacement meal, without charging us anything extra. That kind of genuine kindness and customer care is incredibly rare. The team consistently went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I honestly wish we still received service like this more often in Europe. Thank you to everyone at Social Goods Modern Bakery for making every visit such a wo

Amazing food, amazing coffee, and beautiful presentation. The steak bowl was perfectly cooked, the brunch plate was fresh and satisfying, and the pastries were buttery and delicious. Every dish looked as good as it tasted, and the coffee was smooth and expertly made. Definitely a place worth coming back to. 🤎

Social Goods Modern Bakery is a new spot in Central😍 It has such a nice atmosphere, and the people who work there are especially lovely. I looove the pastries here, and the avocado toast is my favorite. You should also try their bread - it’s freshly baked every day! Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Hong Kong 🫶🏻🇭🇰
