About 蘇杭冰室

蘇杭冰室 is a Cantonese and dim sum restaurant in Central, Central and Western, at 中環蘇杭街3-5號2 號榮發樓樓5 室. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it. This is an upstairs shop: the way in is usually through the building lobby rather than from the street, so check the building name, floor and unit before you go and allow a few minutes for the lift.

Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only.

Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Fri 07:30–21:00, Sat 07:30–18:30, Sun 07:30–17:30. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 3956 5500; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there.

At 3.8 out of 5 on Google (460 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Conclusion: Below Average Food: - Fried Chicken Thigh: Dry and tough, reminiscent of jerky. - Fries: Both dry and overly oily. - Milk Tea: Lacks character—very mediocre in taste and aroma. 👎🏻Service: - We were urged to place our order just one minute after sitting down. -When we requested napkins, the staff told us to "grab them from behind" instead of providing them or guiding us to their location. It took us some time to realize we needed to walk to the exit, where a bag of tissues was hanging. -When we asked for ketchup for our fries, the staff instructed us to get it from a drawer under the table. I assumed that a restaurant would typically bring ketchup when fries are ordered. - We were asked to share our table with a new customer despite having limited space. It didn't make sense to seat a new customer at a two-person table when there were several four-person tables with available space. Interestingly, this restaurant charges a 10% service fee while I don't see them delivering such services. 🤷🏿‍♂️

The food and prices are reasonable, but the restaurant staff primarily speak Cantonese, which makes ordering a bit challenging. The food tastes average and isn’t particularly impressive. However, the prices are affordable, so there's not much to complain about.

i first came here during the beginning of covid, on a rainy day and was comforted with the best charsiu rice and milk tea i've ever had. i had forgotten the name of the place when i was looking for this restaurant specifically, but finally found it! the charsiu and scrambled egg rice is one of their signature dishes, you can add other fillings like beef and ham in it too! eggs silky and soft, charsiu melts in your mouth, the soy sauce ties everything together on a big scoop of rice. would say the portion's worth the price given its location. the milk tea was so smooth with the perfect balance between the tea's intensity and the sugar level, ordering it with less ice brings out the flavors more imo. hits the spot. it's a really classic 茶餐廳 i would say, the interior is a bit on the rustic side yet with a modernish wallpaper. staff r also typical to what you would find in other places. would definitely come again for this exact combination!

A local Hong Kong cafe that’s innovative and offering many set options. The spicy and numb noodle with minced pork in a clay pot was iconic and tasty.

Cheap for a location in Central. Good traditional stuff/ cha chan teng staples. I liked the home made spicy pork cubes. Service was speedy.
