Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Some of the food items are good (e.g. drunken noodles with beef, tom yum kung soup), but not all (coconut smoothie, roasted beef tastes lamb??)… i dont appreciate they made us pay in Cash and said it’s cash only. The utensils are also not very clean…. But highlight is drunken noodles….

Personally I thought the food was not bad but also not like amazing, I got the boat noodles and I thought it was good but also a lot and I feel like the soup was a bit thick and little for my liking, but thai tea was pretty good overall I would give this place a 8/10

We were very lucky to get a seat right away because a line started to form after we sat down. The service was good and prompt. The food was so good. Prices are HK Soho prices definitely not Thai prices.

Thai Pai Dong in Central does a great job of capturing that authentic, no-frills Thai street food vibe, with simple but satisfying dishes that feel very true to what you’d get in Thailand. The skewers, crab omelette and pad see ew in particular were excellent – well cooked, nicely seasoned and very moreish, the kind of plates you keep picking at even when you’re full. Not everything hit the same high: the pad Thai and Pad Kra Pao were fairly average, with flavours that felt a bit muted and not as punchy or aromatic as you’d expect from a Thai place that gets so much hype. On one visit, the service was pretty poor – inattentive and a bit chaotic – but on another it was absolutely fine, so it seems to be hit‑or‑miss rather than consistently bad. The ambience is loud, busy and a little cramped, but that actually adds to the experience and really does remind you of eating at a bustling spot in Thailand, so if you don’t mind the noise it’s a fun place to go with friends.

My Thai friends and I went here for lunch and they approve the flavor and authenticity of their dishes. Vibe is good, selection of food and drinks were amazing. Make sure to come Before 12NN if want to get a table Highly recommended!
