About The Baker & The Bottleman

A modern bakery & natural wine bar by Simon Rogan, combining artisanal techniques, British heritage + casual dining with an eco-friendly spirit.

The Baker & The Bottleman is listed under bakeries & cake shops in Wan Chai. The address is Shop No. G14 and G15 (Minor Portion), G/F. and Shop No. F15A, 1/F Lee Tung Avenue, 200 Queen's Rd E, Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island. Below you will find what people usually look up before a visit: the exact location, contact details, opening hours and the Google rating. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.

Cafés, bakeries, dessert and drinks shops are often mainly takeaway with a few seats, and weekend afternoons are the busiest. Many accept Octopus, credit cards and e-wallets, and some run loyalty schemes or pre-orders; birthday cakes and festive boxes (mooncakes at Mid-Autumn, for example) usually need ordering in advance, a few days ahead on popular dates. Bakeries usually bake fresh in the morning and late afternoon, and popular items can sell out early.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 08:00–21:00. It opens every day of the week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 2386 8933; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. Its website is thebakerandthebottleman.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

It has a Google rating of 3.9 out of 5 from 439 reviews. Opinions are mixed but broadly steady, and the latest reviews are the best guide to what to expect.

Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving.

Came specifically for their limited-time MARROW pop-up menu (available until 31/8), and it definitely didn't disappoint! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Although the Sichuan-style bone marrow was sold out, the staff immediately stepped in with some fantastic off-menu "secret" suggestions. Highlights of the meal: -Beef Tartare & Drunken Chicken: Top quality, fully on par with traditional high-end Western restaurants. -Medium Rare Steak: Recommended by the team, cooked perfectly. The sauce infused with Taiwanese pepper was brilliant—it balanced out the richness of the Wagyu nicely. -Squid in Black Curry Sauce: Perfectly grilled with a unique sauce combination I haven't tasted anywhere else. -Cookie Tiramisu: A delicious, satisfying sweet note to end the meal. Drinks We tried their homemade Lemonade, Long Iced Tea, and Kombucha. You can really tell how much effort and creativity goes into crafting these signature drinks in-house.

I don’t understand why the reviews are bad(( No matter how many times we went, there was always a very pleasant atmosphere, the coffee was delicious, the croissant with salmon was fresh The staff is polite and friendly The choice of pastries is impressive, you can find both low-calorie dishes and sweets

Lovely brunch spot with a cozy vibe, perfect for a slow morning. The coffee was smooth. The eggs benedict was tasty. The pasta was comforting and flavorful. The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp, nicely dressed. The pastry was very delicious. Overall, great quality ingredients and relaxed atmosphere. Not flashy, just really good brunch done right. Will definitely come back to this place again

It is located in the beautiful and famous Lee Tung Avenue. The food is okay. Portion size is pretty small. Menu is small too. So, if you're feeling too hungry, consider your options accordingly. Atmosphere is cool and chill. Service is good.

Great value for money, more casual setting compared to their sister shop Roganic. Good for a nice dinner out. Love their truffle pudding and smoked mackerel crumpet, both showcased creative combination on their amazing bakery items. Tomato and anchovy on toast was a miss as the topping was too cold, made the toast cold and soggy. Kale tagliatelle was also disappointing, the texture was too doughy, the dish was saved by the slow cooked yolk tho. Will come back and try the other items, still a lot to explore on the menu!
