Mong Kok is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Mong Kok is one of Hong Kong's busiest shopping districts: Tung Choi Street (the Ladies' Market) and Fa Yuen Street (Sneakers Street) are lined with small shops, and the buildings along Nathan Road hold countless upstairs shops.

Overall, the place is average -- a typical small eatery in HK and I'd normally rate such a place as 3-stars. But today I'm giving the food 2 stars because the meatballs in my congee taste and smell not "quite right", so did the meat strips in my wife's bowl. I'm not suggesting anything bad about this place; it may just be our unlucky day to get this particular batch of ingredients. Hope it doesn't upset our plan for the day. Perhaps other customers can verify by your own experience. The nice thing about this place is the congee comes piping hot, which sometimes can be rare to find. And the fried dough is amazingly soft inside, despite the dry and not crispy layer outside. We decided to try this place simply because it's across the road from where we're staying (Lodgewood Hotel, Canton Road). Again, as a whole, the place deserves 3 stars for being average enough. But the 2 stars only because of our unpleasant experience withe meat in the congee. Other dishes may be great, so you have to try yourself and be the judge.

This shop offers a fantastic congee experience, blending traditional, high-quality cooking with great accessibility. It provides exceptional value for money and left a lasting impression—I would highly recommend seeking this spot out. The Highlights • Flawless Texture: The congee itself is a masterclass in preparation, featuring a perfectly smooth texture that is comforting from the first bite to the last. This is the mark of authentic, slow-cooked congee. • Must-Order: Fish Congee and Youtiao: The Fish Congee is highly recommended. The fish is tender and incredibly fresh, creating a delicate flavor. Be sure to order it with the Youtiao (Chinese Doughnuts); dipping the crispy youtiao into the smooth congee creates a perfect combination of textures and tastes. • Great Value: The pricing is excellent, offering generous portions of high-quality ingredients for a great value. A satisfying and budget-friendly meal. Convenience and Service • English Menu Available: For non-local speakers, the presence of a clear English menu makes ordering easy, which is a huge plus when exploring new local eateries.

My sister and me both enjoy coming here whenever we are in HK for a visit. The food is comforting and tasty, so much better than what we can get in the states. The dry shrimp rice roll is one of our favorites. The congees are all good and we love the fact that you can order your congee thicker or more watery. The portions are large and price very affordable. Service is not friendly but quick and efficient. We love eating their food and enjoying a slice of HK culture at the same time.

This one open from i think 6am till 2am! You usually dont get any fish in the morning as their stock is to-be-furnish in the early morning after they sold eveything before they close. Yao Tiu is so crunchy and big, i like the Gap Dai porridge, the ingredient being served just right at its best time, not raw - not over cooked, porridge is soft, service is friendly and it is along our walk to and back from i club hotel - Mong Kok Station.

Today, I had a lunch at this local congee spot in the bustling Mongkok area with my mom. The menu was an inviting selection of comfort food and we decided to try the fish congee, scallion and dried shrimp rice noodle roll, Ox-tongue pastry (牛脷酥), and fried noodles with bean sprouts. The fish congee was satisfactory, with adequately cooked fish. The rice roll was a mix of textures with the soft roll and the dried shrimp, and the Ox-tongue pastry was decent, having a crispy exterior and a tender inside. The fried noodles with bean sprouts were seasoned alright, with a subtle wok-fried taste. For the price we paid, the meal definitely hit the spot. It's a great place for anyone looking for a budget-friendly, quick meal while still wanting to enjoy some local flavors. The restaurant ambiance was initially alright, seeming clean and well-maintained. However, as we were leaving, we spotted a cockroach near our bench. That was a bit of a letdown in an otherwise pleasant experience.
