When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Dim sum restaurants usually charge a per-person tea fee, and dishes are priced by size; weekend mornings from about 10:00 to lunchtime are the busiest, and many places give out queue tickets. Book wedding and birthday banquets months ahead.

Opening hours: Mon–Sat 11:00–15:00 and 18:00–22:30, Sun 10:30–15:30 and 18:00–22:30. It opens every day of the week. There is a break between the lunch and dinner sessions. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. You can call 2524 2012; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. More information is on its website, miradining.com.

Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Surprise find on my HK trip! Great service, authentic Cantonese cuisine, and mostly locals dining here. I’ll definitely come again.

We visited Tsui Hang Village for a Sunday lunch with family. The space was huge, making it quite easy to find seats, which was a plus. However, the dim sums were way below our expectations, especially the BBQ Pork buns, leaving us a bit disappointed. On the bright side, the stir-fried Glutinous Rice with Preserved Meat was a lovely surprise. Price-wise, it was reasonable, especially since we booked through Openrice to get 25% off. Overall, it was an average experience.

Have not visited this restaurant for a while and it was now turned into a very nicely decorated dining place. Came for yum cha this time and ordered the usual favourites. The chasiu and stir fried flat rice noodles with beef were outstanding. The deep fried pigeon and the steamed spare ribs were a disappointment though.

A long-established gem, this Cantonese spot, Dishes that are nostalgic, and quite yummy some lot! 😋✨ Though not the healthiest, there’s one treat to inspire, Their deep-fried doughs, a must-try desire! 🍩🔥 Private rooms await, for gatherings with cheer, A perfect place for friends, it’s lively and near. 🎉👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 AJ suggests to the restaurant, a thoughtful decree, Use less oil in cooking, for a healthier spree! 🥗💚

It was a good place for Cantonese cuisine, especially dinner since not so many customers as daytime. Dim sum lunch was fine though the price was a bit high. Service was above average. Food left would be carried to the kitchen for packing in the high-quality plastic boxes. The restaurant was very crowded during tea time, but reservations could be made in advance. The entrance was quite narrow, with a stairway from the main lobby of the building.
