Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 11:00–15:00 and 17:30–22:30. There is a break between the lunch and dinner sessions. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 2525 1163; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. Its website is maximschinese.com.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.
It has a Google rating of 4.0 out of 5 from 622 reviews. Opinions are mixed but broadly steady, and the latest reviews are the best guide to what to expect.
Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

An exquisite fine Chinese dining experience. Each dish surpassed the previous one. The highly professional staff enhanced the dining experience significantly. The private dining room was quite spacious and elegantly decorated. It is an excellent venue for groups of all sizes, suitable for both private and corporate lunches or dinners.

The 3 star overall is because of its overpricing and limited options of dim sum on a weekday... We were 11 and picked here as it was next to the airport express. Turns out they only have 10 or 11 types of dim sum because it was a weekday... I usually like to order an assortment of dishes but here I just ordered 2 of the most common dishes plus some noodles and a fried rice Our bill came to about 300/person... a 5 star hotel pricing... which this is not. Also, the atmosphere is decent, a few might even call it upscale, but for the price, everyone should

Delicious authentic cantonese cuisine coupled with a spacious environment and ample seating. The staff was both friendly and always eager to accommodate. The wide variety of creative dishes were all priced on the high side but generous portions left us satisfied. Overall well worth the experience. AMEX Platinum Gourmet 40% discount makes it worth trying.

Food was ok here. I like their roasted pork a lot. Service was so so. Due to the COVID-19, dishes had to be divided into two as we had more than 4 people (we had six people). When they divide the food into two dishes, the presentation of it was very unpleasant. It looks like being eaten by someone.... I was like... this is a restaurant in Central, how could it be like that and compliant to their manager. However, he didn’t really do anything to help.... What a good restaurant it is....

Food quality should have been better for this price range. Ambience is nice, could have better ventilation towards back of the restaurant. The lobster dumpling didn’t live up to expectation. Egg tart was a bit soggy so wasn’t at all enjoyable. The other dumplings was delicious though especially the rice roll with the crispy fried dough and prawns inside.
