瀧宴日本料理 is listed under Japanese & Korean in Causeway Bay, Wan Chai. The address is 26/F, 26-31 Sugar St, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Island. Below you will find what people usually look up before a visit: the exact location, contact details, opening hours and the Google rating. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.
Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only. Popular Japanese and Korean restaurants often take online bookings or queue tickets, and omakase counters usually ask for a deposit.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 12:00–15:30 and 18:00–23:00. It opens every day of the week. Lunch and dinner are served in separate sessions with a break in between. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 3543 0099; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there.
It has a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 318 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.
Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving.

Located on the 26th floor in Causeway Bay, this spot offers amazing sea views and top-notch teppanyaki. The $980 dinner menu is excellent value for money—featuring live seafood from their in-house tanks, rich lobster in flavourful sauce, bouncy South African abalone, and melt-in-your-mouth Miyazaki Wagyu. Sitting at the bar and watching the chef cook right in front of you makes the whole experience totally worth it!

My friend treated me lunch here today. From start to finish, the food were amazing. We sat by the kitchen counter where the chef cooked all the meals in front of you. The chefa were friendly and will customize the cooking for you. The view overlooking Victoria Park was also a bonus.

瀧宴 offers Japanese-focused set-course menus in an intimate setting perched high in Sugar+, with a lovely view overlooking Victoria Harbour. Despite its small size, the restaurant delivers attentive, thoughtful service that makes the dining experience feel personal and relaxed. While the menus are set, there are still several options to choose from. We’ve tried three different courses, and overall the quality has been consistent. The raw dishes are notably fresh, and the cooked items are generally well prepared and flavorful. The only drawback is the final course: the fried rice and stir-fried veggies are overly salty. Unfortunately, since this is the closing dish, it slightly dampens an otherwise excellent meal. That said, the overall quality of the food easily outweighs this minor misstep. With quality ingredients, solid execution, and great service, 瀧宴 is still an easy recommendation.

Takiyan Teppanyaki – Premium Wagyu Set ($880 per person) ### House Sauce Braised South African Abalone The abalone was tender yet retained a satisfying bounce, demonstrating excellent control in cooking time. The house sauce, based on soy sauce and mirin, was subtly sweet with a touch of complexity. A sprinkle of shichimi togarashi added a gentle kick and enhanced the umami, making the overall flavor profile layered and refined. ### Seasonal Sashimi Trio The first course featured flounder fin wrapped with yuzu pepper — a creative combination that brought out the delicate sweetness of the fish. The second, deep-sea horse mackerel, had a rich, balanced oiliness. The final piece was aged bluefin tuna, matured for a week. It had a firm texture, deep flavor, and a buttery, lingering richness from the marbled fat. ### Seared Yellowtail Belly Hand Roll A standout dish: a crispy rice cracker base layered with sea salt, furikake, and scallions, topped with luscious yellowtail belly. The fish was velvety and rich, while the rice cracker added a toasted aroma and crunch. The interplay of textures and umami created a well-balanced and memorable bite. ### Seafood Chawanmushi Steamed egg cus

To celebrate the start of the Year of Dragon, my friend invited me to have lunch at 瀧宴日本料理. This is my first visit. The restaurant offers a comfortable environment and a good view of the surrounding buildings. The lunch special menu offers a fine dining experience and good value for money. Food on the whole is fresh and of good quality. The food display and taste are enjoyable. Chefs are professional. Seasonal sushi and sashimi and seasonal appetiser are fresh. Goose liver with homemade sauce is savoury and rich, offering a melt in the mouth texture. King prawn has good texture, offering buttery and subtle flavour. Scallop with herb butter is simple yet delicious and offering a sweet flavour. US prime beef is tender and rich. Fried rice with miso soup and fried vegetables are nice, too. As we are full, we skip ice cream for dessert.
